The second Annual General Meeting (AGM) for CycleWR will be held virtually at 7pm on May 29th. It will be open to members only. If you haven’t yet joined, please take a moment and do it now. We have a policy of leaving no one behind, so the “Fixie” membership is available at no cost.
The AGM will include a membership report, treasurer’s report, president’s report and election of directors. We will also be asking for your support of three specific motions (see attached). As a non-profit, membership engagement is very important to us, so we hope to see you at our AGM to meet our new candidates for the Board of Directors and vote in the election.
Volunteer to be a board member
Important. Impactful. Inspiring.
CycleWR is a non-profit organization advocating for cycling to be a safe, respected, convenient, and everyday mode of transportation for people of all ages and abilities. We are actively seeking board members to assist in advancing the state of cycling in the region. In addition to the standard roles and responsibilities of a board member, our board members are fully engaged in the development of resources and campaigns that help raise the profile of all kinds of people who cycle, with special attention towards educating elected officials and municipal staff members.
Two (2) positions available
This is an extraordinary opportunity for anyone who is passionate about strong towns, cycling, equity, and community; and who hopes to strengthen their leadership and governance skills in the nonprofit sector. Special skills sought include social and traditional media, advocacy, public policy, marketing, events planning, infrastructure analysis, and financial/accounting acumen.
CycleWR has seven board members and holds twelve board meetings per year. Board members are expected to read board materials in advance of board meetings and to come prepared to ask questions and participate in discussions.
Board terms last for three years and board members can serve consecutive terms.
Interested applicants should send an expression of interest to hello@cyclewr.ca by April 28.
Elections will take place at the CycleWR AGM on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.
