Bike Racks

What’s in this map

This map is a result of our own review of the existing bike racks in areas of Waterloo Region with a high number of businesses and that our members frequently visit.

When assessing the sturdiness, we assigned a subjective value to qualify how well they are bolted or whether they are degrading (such as rusting). They are not a qualification of their security, so please assess other aspects when using them, such as high visibility, pedestrian traffic and/or existence of security cameras, as well as the duration of your visit.

You can read Parking your bicycle to learn more about the best kinds of bike racks you can use to lock your bike.

If you know of an area of high interest with existing bike racks, regardless of their quality, or a destination that could benefit from having bike racks, please fill up this form.

Check out IonizeWR, a campaign led by the Tri-Cities Transport Action Group (Tri-TAG), to get the ION Stage 2 project in motion. Read up on the resources linked there, and check out the different ways you can get involved.
