For the 2026 municipal elections, CycleWR volunteers have been taking municipal electoral candidates on bike rides to show off the best and worst of the cycling infrastructure in their ward/city/region.

Here is a short blurb from Manikantan: “”🚴 In Kitchener, cycling infrastructure has improved but it is still behind Montreal, Vancouver and Ottawa in overall bike-friendliness. Waterloo is generally considered more bike-friendly than Kitchener due to its trail network and cycling infrastructure”
