Tell us about your bike! Is it meeting your needs so far? Have you made any changes to your setup? All good!⁠

How is your gear holding up? Have you had to swap in anything new or get rid of anything excessive? New warm gloves. ⁠

How often have you been riding? Is this more or less than you expected? Unfortunately due to work schedule, less than anticipated.⁠

Tell us about your favorite ride so far. What made it so enjoyable? Morning, on the Iron horse trail, a few days after Christmas. Quiet, clear, not too busy..⁠
. ⁠
Have you had any challenges? What have you learned along the way? Go slow in the loose, slushy snow. Stay clear of ice. Keep feet warm too!⁠
. ⁠
Do you have a message for folks who are considering winter biking? It's invigorating! Less 'sweaty' than summer. Great way to combine a work out and transportation. Wakes me up! ⁠

Do you have any goals for the coming month? To get my kids to try it⁠

Tell us about your bike! Is it meeting your needs so far? Have you made any changes to your setup? I'm still riding my 20-year old Trek hybrid and it suits me just fine. This fall I ditched the three rings on the front to go with just one -- I didn't really use the 3 rings in the city and one is much simpler and works flawlessly.⁠

How is your gear holding up? Have you had to swap in anything new or get rid of anything excessive? My chain is looking pretty rusty -- to be expected. But I know from experience that a lot of rust colour doesn't mean it is worn out. A few clean and lube cycles in the spring and it will be fine. I did get new lobster mitts which I love -- so much warmer than even the heaviest gloves but not as awkward as full mitts.⁠

How often have you been riding? Is this more or less than you expected? I've been riding almost every day. It's been such a gentle winter!⁠
. ⁠
Tell us about your favorite ride so far. What made it so enjoyable? I love riding in fresh snow if it is not too deep. Even better when the big flakes are still falling -- so magical.⁠
. ⁠
Have you had any challenges? What have you learned along the way? I had two flat tires in the last week -- one on the back and one on the front. No fun fixing it in the cold so I just hopped on the LRT. ⁠
. ⁠
Do you have a message for folks who are considering winter biking? Just do it :) You don't have to commit to doing it all the time. Start with once. The barriers are almost all psychological.⁠

Do you have any goals for the coming month? Make it to spring :)⁠
